An Important George II carved pine Console Table, possibly attributed to a design by William Kent, with a rectangular breche violette marble top, the base with a spiral ribbon frieze, having a central mask of Diana the Huntress below within a tapering scrolled cartouche, surmounted by a shell and with a floral foliate garland below, flanked by robustly carved bird headed acanthus leaf scrolls from which emanates in a bold arched design a broken ogee arched band with recessed foliate ornament that continues and joins the claw feet of the sculptured mythical animals in the corners, the sides with a central scallop shell flanked by rocaille and scrolling acanthus, the top 183cm (6ft) x 93cm (3ft 0 1/4in), 92cm (3ft) high. * The marble top is cracked, the base has repairs and with metal braces.
