c.1870 Mourning envelope with "Osborne" embossed flap, addressed to "Miss A. Symon, Balmoral, Crathie, Aberdeenshire", the 1d red cancelled "PORTSMOUTH / SORTING CARRIAGE" c.d.s (year omitted), the envelope containing a Carte de Visite photograph of John Brown by W&D Downey. Part flap missing and small tear at upper edge, otherwise fine and an unusual pair. (2).
