A nameplate, BLUE STAR, from the Southern Railway Merchant Navy Class 4-6-2 Bulleid Pacific No 21C10 built at Eastleigh in July 1942 and named on 18 December 1942 at Waterloo station by Lord Vestry, the Chairman of the shipping company. Renumbered 35010 by BR in December 1948 and rebuilt without its streamlined casing in January 1957. Allocated new to Salisbury, its later sheds were Nine Elms, Bournemouth, Exmouth Junction and finally back to Bournemouth from where it was withdrawn in September 1966 and sold for scrap to Woodham Bros at Barry. It was acquired for preservation by the British Enginemen Steam Preservation Society in 1982 and is currently stored at Castle Hedingham on the Colne Valley Railway awaiting the commencement of restoration. Cast brass, overall 73¼"x30½", some service marks to the edge of the flag, the lettering and rim cleaned during service, a length of wood fitted to the back by the railway prior to delivery, never removed.
