John Grieg McFarlane's was announced in the London Gazette dated 11th May 1917 (LG lists him as formerly No 3904). With copied LG, MIC, medal roll and casualty lists, he was wounded with 4/5th Bn during the attack on Tower Hamlets on 26/9/17 during the Battle of Polygon Wood, later served with 1/5th Bn Seaforth Highlanders and wounded again in July 1918, missing a 1914-15 Star.
