ENGLISH SHAFT & GLOBE WINE BOTTLE. 7.7ins tall. An outstanding, nay quite superb, example of an English shaft & globe wine bottle, c. 1660-70? Olive green glass, full of seed bubbles, full sheen. Wonderful tooled lip, fully intact chunky string rim below. Base kick up & rough pontil. Various hand written base labels, on reads: Discovered beneath floor boards of UBLEY MANOR, AVON. Subsequently auctioned at Sothebys, 18 July 1983. Ex David Walker Barker collection.
