Very rare early Joe Davis Billiards cue: the Joe Davis Champion Cue Record Break 980. Joe Davis endorsed lots of cues during his career, many of them commemorating world records and other milestones. This exceptional cue is believed to be the very first, commemorating his world record break of 980 during a 2nd division billiards match on Feb 28th 1924. He broke his own records on a regular basis so this was unlikely to have been produced for very long. A rare 58" of snooker history and considered a 'Holy Grail' cue among collectors. Comes in a vintage pressed metal club cue hanger (it's probably been in this case all of its life). ADDED 18/07: In response to condition report requests an additional photograph has been added to listing showing weight stamp on cue, weight 16 1/2 oz.
