A fine American silver and guilloché enamel pen-holder and stamp-dispenser; the dispenser engraved 'Presented to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle from the members of the San Francisco Spiritualist Society', marked 'STERLING' to inside rim (8 cm diameter of base).
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle visited San Francisco in 1923 as part of his second tour of America and Canada. His experiences are described in 'Our Second American Adventure', published in 1924.
