The collection of Thomas William Glover (1858-1950) - three African tribal spears, assegai, the longest 68ins. (173cms.) long; together with a Zulu knobkerrie or knobkerry; two axes or hatchets, one with hatched grip; another short spear (possibly part of a larger spear); a broken arrow; an Eastern Sudan beja dagger; and another knife in sheath (a lot). Footnote - the assegais and knobkerry are mentioned in his autobiography ‘Recollections of Life in South Africa 1874-1903’ included in this sale as Lot 203.
