James I silver Halfgroat, second coinage (1604-1619), escallop mintmark, apparent misspelling (S 2659, North 2104). Obverse: crowned rose with the following legend: 'I: D' G.' ROSA SINA · SPILA' [sic] or perhaps 'SPNA' - should be 'SPINA', unusual. Reverse: crowned thistle, '· TVEATVR · VNITA · DEVS' with escallop mintmark. Weight: 1.00g. Diameter: 17mm. Grade: aVF - a little porosity, otherwise almost Very Fine.
