EARLY TIN GLAZED LAMBETH OINTMENT POT. 2.25ins diam, 0.9ins tall. An extremely rarely seen hand thrown, early, tin glazed ointment pot - shallow central depression and dinky finger-held foot - for careful compound application! Hand written blue letters around rim, difficult to decipher exactly - could be S P Green 2 Union Place Lambeth - if so it is an unrecorded variant (see Bob Houghton & Mark Priestley book, p35). Recently discovered in the North East of England. Usual edge glaze flakes, overall super crude. A particularly rare offering on the open market.
