An early 19th century Chinese 'Tek Sing' salvaged blue and white ship-wreck porcelain bowl, 10.5 cm diameter to/w another 19th century blue and white bowl, 11 cm diameter both with freely painted underglaze blue decoration, Qing dynasty, an antique provincial stoneware hexagonal green glazed ginger jar (missing cover) an early 20th century Chinese blue and white prunus on cracked ice ginger jar and cover, 13.5 cm high and a Japanese blue and white dish transfer printed with dragons, four-character mark, 16 cm diameter (5)
The Tek Sing (Chinese 'True Star') was an ocean-going junk which sank in the South China Seas on the 6th February 1822, discovered by Capt. Michael Thatcher on 12th May 1999. Approximately 350'000 items of Chinese porcelain were salvaged and auctioned by Nagel Auctions, Stuttgart, November 2000
