Louis-René de Rohan, Cardinal de Rohan, was a French cardinal and statesman and a member of the powerful Rohan family. He made himself an enemy of Queen Marie Antoinette and became embroiled in the famous 'affair of the diamond necklace' in 1784-1785, only being acquitted in 1786.
