German WW2 Kriegsmarine flag - this very interesting piece is marked up to "D.M. Alster. Norddeutcher-Lloyd Bremen". It comes with an original 'Writ of Summons - Ship and Whole Cargo In the High Court of Justice. Admiralty Division" No 850 Prize S.S. Alster in the Port of Bremen, taken as a Prize by our ship of war "Penelope". Witness John Viscount Simon 7th June 1940. Writ served by Robert Robertsby, Officer of Customs & Excise, Leith on the ship "Alster". This Writ was fixed to the ship at the Imperial Dock, Leith 13th June 1940. The Bemen Port flag was then kept a souviner along with the original Writ ! Flag in worn condition, but rare. (79" x 57" inches)
