A Victorian silver niello vinaigrette, rectangular form with allover engraved foliate decoration and cast thumb-piece, gilt interior and pierced grille, by Taylor & Perry, hallmarks Birmingham 1840, 4 x 2.5cm
No damage or repair, some wear to high points and niello along with light abrasions all over, cartouche has engraved initials, both hinges working, gilding still bright, hallmarks clear.
