Kho Sin-Khie or Xu Chengji(September 2, 1912 – January 31, 1947) was an Indonesian-born tennis player who represented the Republic of China in the Davis Cup. A member of the Peranakan Chinese ethnic group, Kho was the first Chinese player to win a major international tournament. He claimed the British Hard Court Championships twice, as well as the Surrey Grass Court Championships once. In addition, he won the Swiss International Championships in 1939 and was a champion in both Italy and Sweden.
This lot includes several photographs and postcards signed by Kho Sin-Khie, all dedicated to 'Lyne' (who appears in the final photo, standing beside Kho). One of the photos features a personal inscription from Kho, reading: "To my dear 'Lyne': with sweet memories during my stay in Brussels. 28/5/1946." Some images were taken during the 1946 Davis Cup in Brussels, documenting the China vs Belgium match, while others capture moments from the China vs Denmark match in Copenhagen, also in 1946. Additionally, there are photos of Kho in London from 1941 and in Switzerland from 1938.
