EARLY FDCs, PROOFS, ETC: Stock book housing the c.1922-58 collection of mint & used issues. Main interest is in the early FDCs inc. the particularly rare 1930 Shannon Scheme, 1931 Royal Dublin Society, 1932 Eucharistic Congress, 1933 Holy Year, 1934 G.A.A., etc. The collection is accompanied by original correspondence between T.E. Storey, the engraver of many of these issues, and H.W.L. Evans at the Royal Mint. The lot includes two proofs for the 2d value of the 1937 Constitution set, one in black on white paper (endorsed "Experimental Design"), the other in green in a sunken mount of cream coloured cardboard.
