A good .451" Westley Richards "Monkey Tail" breech loading percussion carbine, 36" overall, barrel 20" with Birmingham proofs, serial number 2511, and stamped "Whitworth Patent"; lock stamped "Westley Richards" and dated "1865" in triangle; walnut fullstock with steel mounts, saddle bar and ring, and original steel ramrod. Good Working Order and Untouched Condition with dark patina overall, lock with original colour hardened finish beneath the patina. Plate 33
