The bearer of this for 337139 Lieut D C J Burges of 86 Medium Regiment RA is entitled to be in possession of a Japanese Sword issued to him under the provisions of HQ 34 Ind Corps letter No 190/1/A1 of 24 Oct 45 governing the provisions of Japanese trophies to those who took part in the reoccupation of Malaya'. The sword is signed on the tang.
