Bears inscription on lining verso: `This landscape was bought at the sale of Lord Charles [indistinct]...as a Salvator Rosa`, oil on canvas 60.5 x 44cm. * The subject is compositionally similar to Salvator Rosa's `Landscape with St Antony Abbot and St Paul the Hermit`, c.1660-1665 (Scottish National Gallery).
Old lining; some abrasion; needs a clean.
