1840 (Aug. 12) Southgate Mulready Caricature envelope number 3 used from Moffat to Lockerbie bearing a 1d black, JJ plate 3 with good to huge margins cancelled by a red Maltese Cross. Seal cut from reverse, some staining, the stamp not tied, with R.P.S Certificate (1974) "is genuine as far as one can say". A scarce envelope, ex.
