A pair of West Country provincial silver Trefid spoon Thomas Salter, Exeter circa 1695, of conventional form, with scrolled rat-tail, with dot-pricked initials F.P and M. P on both spoons and dates 1696 and 1698, 22cm (8 3/4in) long, 118g (3.8oz), (2) These spoons are similar to the one illustrated in West Country Silver Spoons and Their Makers, 1550-1750, Kent T, p23 Provenance: by family repute, believed to have been made as christening spoons relating to the Pomeroy family, Devon and Somerset.
