German Third Reich M33 SA Group Franken Stormtrooper Rohm erased dagger by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. Good example with nickel mounts, the blade etched Alles fur Deutschland and bearing 1930's maker's oval squirrel logo. Brown wooden grip inlaid with silvered eagle and swastika and enamelled circular SA device; crossguard stamped Fr (SA Group Franken). Housed in original brown anodised scabbard with nickel mounts, the top mount with single suspension ring. Blade with polished out inscription (partially erasing maker's logo), scabbard with minor dents one throat screw absent. GC Following Hitler’s purge of the SA during "The Night of the Long Knives", Rohm was shot at Stadelheim Prison by SS-Obersturmbannführer Michael Lippert on 2nd July, 1934, An order dated July 4th required all Rohm inscriptions to be obliterated from the blades, failure to do so risked severe punishment.
