A Damascus pottery tile, Syria, late 16th/early 17th century, decorated in cobalt blue, light blue and green with black outlines on a white ground with a design consisting of entwining palmettes, arabesques within lobed medallions and stylised lotus blossoms, approximately 26cm square, later wood frame, glaze chips

There are a number of small glaze chips to the surface of the tile, a small area has flaked out and been stuck back in middle left, surface wear to the glaze consistent with age and use, the back of the tile has typical chipping around the edges of the unglazed pottery.
