Lewis Carroll. A first and one other. 'Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There,' first edition first issue with printing error 'wade' for 'wabe' on p21, illustrations by John Tenniel, original red cloth with gold tooled roundel to front board, textblock loose from front board and spine panel, MacMillan and Co, London, 1872; 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland,' thirtieth thousand, original red cloth with gold tooled roundel to front board, split to rear edge with spine cloth panel loosening, rubbed and bumped, leaves loosening, MacMillan and Co, London, 1872. 'Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There,' instence of finger soiling to titlepage, light finger soiling throvughout, small 1cm sized burn hole to pages 220-221, a small amount of sporadic spotting.  'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland,' light finger soiling to titlepage, 2.5cm stain and corner fold to p.7, corner fold to p.55, 5cm stain to centre of leaf p.168, some sporadic light finger soiling throughout.
