Joseph Smith, Bristol, a mahogany longcase clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell with the twelve-inch brass break-arch dial having a raised chapter ring engraved with black Roman numerals, the matted centre with a subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture with cast-brass c-scroll and vase spandrels to the four-corners and blued-steel hands, the arch having a silvered roundel engraved with the makers name Joseph Smith, Bristol, with engraved decorative surround, the mahogany case having applied rose roundels, gadrooned mouldings to the trunk door and panel to the base, the hood with fluted pillars and surmounted by a curved top with blind fretwork, standing on bracket feet, height 222cm.
