A smokebox numberplate, 45544, from the LMS Patriot Class 4-6-0 No 5544 built at Crewe in 1934, becoming BR 45544. Its later sheds were Edge Hill and Warrington from where it was withdrawn in December 1961 and cut up at Crewe Works in March 1962. This is one of a few Patriots that remained un-named. Repainted, a weld repair in the centre. (Postage Band: D)
