AIR CRASH MAIL - 1937 'CYGNUS' CRASH COVER GROUP: Four covers ex Palestine or Australia to UK/Holland/Brazil carried on the Imperial Airways flying boat which overturned at Brindisi. Most with stamps washed off and with variations of the boxed cachets "DAMAGED BY SEA WATER", one (to Holland) with "SERVICE POSTAL FRANCAIS/Correspondance retardee/par accident d'Avion./Priere de ne pas taxer." cachets (mainly used on mail to France), and one with no cachet but with rare use of "E.[crown]R."
