George III inlaid mahogany longcase clock with swan-neck pediment, the painted arched dial decorated with cottage to the arch, tulips and auricular to the spandrels, having subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture inscribed ‘Crane & Sons, Bromsgrove’, having lozenge inlaid borders above the trunk door having central shell inlay flanked by pair inset quadrant reeded forepilasters, on plinth base, 212cm high approx.
Surface scratches, scuffs and knocks to the wood. Areas of fading and discolouration. Areas of loss to the wood, veneer and stinging. Evidence of old worm in places. crazing and damage to the enamel face and wear to the painted decoration. General wear and tear. See photos.
