** The artist lived at 49 Holmdene Avenue, Herne Hill, London, SE24 9LB, the artist was a versatile print maker and teacher noted for his landscapes and still life work, born in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, the artist was influenced by the places he lives in particularly his love of Italy, every year he and his wife who was also a painter, spent up a month in Petrognano, near Florence. When in Italy, he would work on one picture in the morning and two in the afternoon, his primary interest was to capture the unfaltering Italian light.
