A GOOD AND RARE HENRY VIII CARVED OAK HERALDIC PANEL, CIRCA 1520-40. Of a Leucrota, with horse's head, long tail and cloven hooves, within a roundel, with foliate chip-carved spandrels and a notched border, 32cm high, 23cm wide Literature: See M. W. Tisdall, 'God's Beasts', (1988), p. 151. Some Bestiaries acknowledge a Leucrota was a product of a relationship between a lion and a hyena.
