Bechuanaland. 1896 (July 27) Stampless cover (printed 7th Hussars flap) to England, endorsed "On active service" and "Free" and signed "G.A.H Carew Capt, 7th Hussars", with "MACLOUTSIE" c.d.s and octagonal "T/10c" postage due handstamp, a 1d charge mark applied in London, backstamped at Mafeking and London. A fine campaign cover posted in Bechuanaland Protectorate, incorrectly handstamped with a 10c charge mark and therefore only charged 1d in London, the soldiers rate instead of the correct 6d officers rate.
