Two mid-19th century fans, and one earlier, the first with pale horn monture, carved, pierced and gilded, double paper leaf, lithographed, the recto featuring a rustic carriage pulled by goats taking a young couple for a ride in the countryside, accompanied by friends, the reserves with gold decoration, the verso showing two maidens and a boy on a beach, taking a fishing net from a gentleman in a rowing boat, the reserves also gilded guard approx. 27 cm; together with a wood fan, the monture carved and pierced, the boldly coloured lithographed leaf with a large central cartouche featuring a young lady being courted by a suitor, three companions present, the reserves in navy blue with gilt and orange decoration, this being continued on the verso, guard approx. 27 cm; and a third fan, slightly earlier, the monture of bone, carved and pierced, the guards overlaid with pink mother of pearl gilded and clouté, featuring several family members of different generations taking their leisure in the outdoors, the reserves with gothic decoration, the verso showing country maidens at the well, drawing water, guard approx. 24 cm (3)
The first fan is complete with several folds needing attention. The third fan lacks a piece of MOP overlay on one guard and a chip on one side on the other guard
