A low mintage, rare date from Melbourne mint. As the Western world discontinued gold convertibility due to WWI, many rare dates were created in Australia during 1920s as sovereigns were produced in small numbers. Large parts of some mintages were melted and used to pay off war debts, typically to the United States.
