1938-1945 German M38 Kriegsmarine officer's uniform dagger named for Korvettenkapitän Claus Korth, Knights Cross recipient. The double fullered blade etched with fouled anchors and sea creatures, the ricasso maker marked for WKC, the gilt brass hilt with orange cellulose grip. In gilt brass scabbard engraved 'C. Korth - U-93', on a pair of black nylon fabric hangers, black velvet backing, gilt aluminum fittings, chains and buckles with dual lion heads.
During World War II, Claus Korth (1911-1988) commanded U-57 and U-93, sinking thirteen ships for a total of 54,584 tons of Allied merchant shipping, including the RMS Durham Castle. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.
