Badge. 53rd (Shropshire) Regiment of Foot Victorian shako plate circa 1869-78. Good scarce die-stamped brass crowned laurel sprays enclosing the Garter, the seeded centre pierced with stencilled numerals 53. Loops. VGC Following Cardwell’s reforms of the Army, 53rd became 1st Bn King’s Light Infantry on 1st July 1881, later KSLI.
