C17th Chechen (Caucasian) khanjali, blade with gilt Islamic inscription and gilt decoration, grip and scabbard believed to be later than the blade, the scabbard with applied white metal decoration, blade length 50cm, overall length including scabbard 68cm taken from Tbilisi during the the Russian conquest of the Caucsus
Some rubbing to gilt decoration/writing to blade. Grip with some denting. Scabbard with some loss to white metal & some wear to leather.
