WW1 BWM, Victory Medal and KGVI Royal Air Force LSGC to 356570 Act/Sgt C.A. Abbott R.A.F. (69472 Pte C.A. Abbott North'd Fus on WW1) very fine and better, these 3 swing mounted as worn, with 1939-1945, Africa (North Africa 1942-43 bar) Stars, Defence Medal and BWM with MID oakleaf mint in Air Ministry box of issue addressed to C.A. Abbott Esq, Eastleigh (the pin on the reverse of the oakleaf is detached), with 2 RAF blue transmission slips as well as Air Council transmission slip.
Warrant Officer Charles Alfred Abbott was Mentioned in Dispatches announced in the London Gazette dated 17th September 1945, with original MID Certificate.
He was born 6/7/99, enlisted in Northumberland Fus 13/8/17, suffered a GSW to the arm serving with 9th Bn and admitted to 31st Ambulance Train 2/11/18, discharged 23/2/19. Re-enlisted in Rifle Bde 9/9/19 and discharged 8/9/23. Enlisted in RAF 19/11/23, career trade as Wireless Operator Mechanic and Wireless Electrical Mechanic from 1939, served in Aden from 1928, Middle East Command 1930, No 54 Sqn 1932, No 801 Sqn HMS Furious 1935, No 104 Sqn 1937, LSGC awarded 19/11/37, Khartoum 1940, promoted W.O. 1/6/40, HQME 1942, UK from 1943, discharged 21/2/46.
