Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) original signed and dated pencil drawing that formed part of the sale of Cocteaus collection of works, the event held at the Circle Gallery Los Angeles, complete with invitation to gallery opening (printed 1981) together with the stapled receipt for the drawing obtained by Andy Wickham at that event. Signed and dated 1958 and since reframed. It is interesting to note that in 1958 Cocteau released a series of ceramic plates titled Trois danseurs ( three dancers) it is probable that this sketch was the artwork for that series of plates and kept by Jean Cocteau as part of his estate. 54 x 48 cm
