An early Victorian mahogany cased artists box by Brodie & Middleton,
Top with light surface scratches; paints appear unused, one (top-left) chipped and incomplete; three white ceramic mixing dishes beneath the paints tray; circular glass dish is pressed, not cut; two white ceramic palettes enclosed within lower drawer, one of which is glue-repaired. No key to box. Dated 1840.
