A Japanese ivory Shibayama fan, Meiji Period, 日本，芝山象牙扇，明治时期 the guards decorated with shibayama birds amongst plum blossom and convolvulus, the fan painted with bijin amongst plum blossom and verso with figures walking by the sea, three of which are raking salt, with bamboo bats, the fan signed to both sides and one guard signed, 50cm open, 27.5cm closed
