Good rare circular example with protrusion top and bottom. Obverse incised with Harp and shamrocks between LIMERICK FENSIBLE above and VOLUNTEERS beneath within raised rim OMNE LIBER METU PROMPTUS AD CERTAMEN. Reverse rim inscribed THIS MEDAL OF MERIT and centre inscribed IS AWARDED TO A ZEALOUS COMRADE FOR SKILL IN FIRING AT TARGET. Lower protrusion inscribed F. RYAN. GC Unit raised in 1778.
