A worksplate SUPER-SENTINEL LOCOMOTIVE No 8157. From a standard gauge ash crane locomotive, one of two supplied to the LNER for ash clearance work at locomotive sheds in Scotland. Delivered new in December 1929 and numbered 773044, it spent virtually all its life at Eastfield and Parkhead sheds. It was allocated the number 971575 in 1938 but this was never carried. Passed to British Railways in 1948 and renumbered RS 1032/1½, the latter figure referring to the crane's capacity in tons. Withdrawn in July 1959. Cast brass, 5"x9¾", the front repainted.
