Musket P'53, lock with crown and "V.R." to tail and "1856" & "Tower" to lockplate. Three barrel bands, round barrel 37", steel ramrod, nipple protector cap and chain, fixed rearsight, leather sling, lock works on 1st & 2nd cock. Walnut stock with traces of storekeepers stamps, barrel with some pitting. Brass furniture, some service wear overall. This type of musket with its ammunition helped trigger the Indian Mutiny of 1857 !
