A rare Victorian silver combination cigarette and vesta case, Sampson Mordan & Co, London, 1882, of rounded rectangular form, the top with hinged cover opening to reveal gilt interior for storage of cigarettes, the bottom, hinged to one corner, opening to reveal storages for vestas and strike plate to base, the front engraved with stags head family crest, the back inscribed from G.S ~to~I.D.G, 3 5/8in. (9.2cm.) long, weight 2.75 tr.oz. * Condition: Light surface wear and tiny flea-bite nibbles only, very good.
