An unusual oryx horn cane, carved wooden detachable top, silver cartouche inscribed 1937 Cap't F W De Guingand, 80cm long Major General Sir Francis Wilfred Freddie de Guingand, KBE CB, DSO (28th Feb 1900 - 29 June 1979) He was a British Army Officer who served with Montgomery from El Alamein in the West. He served as Montgomery's staff officer for a period of over two and a half years.
