A RARE 19TH CENTURY SUNDIAL PLATE, the octagonal slate engraved with sunburst design to centre, within a band of roman numerals and encircled by three lines, one with zodiac signs, the outer with dates. Engraved reading ‘Delineated July 1834’ to one corner. Engraved with Makers name to other corner, possibly W.J. Maquel. Lacking gnomon. Dimensions: 40.5cm x 40.5cm approx.
