1687 James II, The Spanish Wreck Recovered a modern silver reproduction (1971) of George Bower's medal, by D. F. Payne (for the Crown Agents) for the Turks & Caicos Islands, conjoined busts of James II & Queen Mary right, reverse: the salvage operation, a small row-boat to the fore, SEMPER TIBI PENDEAT HAMUS, 54mm, 105.76gms (cf. MI.619/33; Eimer 285, note), numbered 363 on edge, Mint state. The issue believed to be 1000 specimens. The original medal commemorated the recovery of £300,000 worth of silver from a Spanish ship wrecked in the West Indies.
