An industrial nameplate, AIREDALE from Hunslet Engine 1440 of 1923, a standard gauge 0-6-0ST new to New Silkstone & Haigh Moor Coal Co Ltd, Allerton Bywater Colliery, Yorkshire. Passed to the National Coal Board in 1947 and transferred to Peckfield Colliery in 1959. Worked at several other collieries in the area, the last being Ackton Hall, South Featherstone. Sold for preservation in December 1975 to the Yorkshire Dales Railway, Embsay, North Yorkshire where it is awaiting restoration. Cast brass, 30"x6¾", the front repainted.
