A Great Exhibition Bronze Medallion 1851, by W. Wyon Royal Mint, the edge inscribed "Prize Medal of the Exhibition James Dixon and Sons Class XXIII", conjoined bust of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, trident behind and dolphins below, the other side with Industry seated receiving a wreath from Fame attended by Commerce, in a fitted case.
Footnote; James Dixon and Sons was founded in 1806 in Sheffield. They manufactured pewter ware, electroplated Britannia metal, silver ware and electroplated items. They were also the world leaders in manufacturing shooting accessories in the XIX Century and were well known whistle makers as well.
