PAIR OF LARGE DRESDEN LIDDED JARS. A pair of large jars painted with alternating panels of courting couples and sprays of flowers on a purple ground. With dome top covers with gilded finials and various gilded decoration, each with 'AR' monogram mark to the base. 37.5cms high. *CR One jar, lid - finial has chipped down one side and gilded over, some wear to the gilding around the rim of the lid, bottom of lid slightly miss shaped from manufacture. Jar, hairline crack from rim to bottom of that section, section inside the rim uneven from manufacture.
The other, lid - the finial has been broken at the base and restored, a little wear to the finial and rim in places, bottom of lid slightly miss shaped from manufacture. Jar, a little wear to the gilding in places, firing crack to the base (4cms long).
